Mural hunting Montreal.

As seen on this blog before, Montreal is a huge hub of murals and street art, making our walls alive and adding colour to our already beautiful city. Here are more murals from mural fest last week and from around the city, mainly in other parts of Le Plateau and downtown.

Mural fest 2017, part 1

It’s that time of year again! Mural fest takes over St. Laurent street in Montreal. From June 8-18th, 22 new murals, multiple instalations and pop-up shops arrive on the main. This year being the 5th year, the festival expanded, adding some murals downtown and also had art instillation in Old Montreal. As I went yesterday during the 3rd day, all murals weren’t completed or haven’t started yet. I will go back next week to capture all completed and anything else that pops up as well.

Jacques Cartier bridge lit up

In honour of Montreal’s 375th birthday, the iconic Jacques Cartier bridge debuted the very amazing lighting package that Montreal will have for the next 10 years. Made by Moment Factory along with multiple Montreal companies who specialise in multimedia content, the bridge will change colour depending on seasons, weather, special events, traffic and everything in between. This event was very special and attracted 400,000 spectators, in which 30% were from other cities. Here are some pictures and GIFs from Wednesday night.

Happy Birthday, Montreal! 375 years old!

Today is the day, Montreal turns 375 years old! This year has been a very special one with all year round celebrations commemorating this milestone and this city. Montreal, North America’s 9th largest city, a city with over 200 ethnic groups, a city where everyone enjoys life, nature, culture and events. I am so proud to be from here and to call this city home, it truly is a unique place and a gem of a city. To celebrate, here is one of the many posts to celebrate the 375th birthday, with pictures¬†that were taken over time showing art, the city and architecture. Once again, happy birthday to this lovely and amazing city!

Plaza St.Hubert art hunting part 2.

More pictures from the great art hunt from Tuesday at the very popular Plaza St.Hubert, a major commercial street. The best part is that more and more new art projects will be made thanks to Artgang Montreal. With new shops, restaurants and art, the Plaza is once again a hotspot amongst locals.
